Who We Are
The YMCA of Alaska is a community-anchored nonprofit dedicated to strengthening the foundations of community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. For more than 50 years, we’ve served families across Anchorage, Mat-Su, and Kodiak with programs that support growth, connection, and lifelong well-being.
Rooted in our mission to build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all, the Y brings people together across generations. We create inclusive spaces, provide access through financial assistance, and offer programs that respond to Alaska’s unique needs—ensuring everyone has the opportunity to belong and thrive.

As a nonprofit, the YMCA of Alaska reinvests every dollar back into the community. Memberships, donations, and partnerships help fund scholarships, outreach programs, and inclusive services that ensure no one is turned away due to financial barriers. By working alongside families, schools, and community partners, the Y serves as a trusted hub where people connect, grow, and support one another—today and for generations to come.
